WELDABILITY-SIF LAUNCH THE NEW SIFWELD MTS 400 INDUSTRIAL WELDING PACKAGE
Weldability-Sif, the UK based “one stop source” for all welding products, has launched the SifWeld MTS 400, an electronically controlled MIG/MAG/MMA industrial welding package featuring IGBT inverter technology.
With clear digital displays, low-spatter, polarity reversal (for FCAW) and integral 4-roll wire feed system able to accommodate up to 15kg of wire spools, the unit is designed for use in heavy-duty fabrication applications such as structural steel and marine/shipyard tasks. The SifWeld MTS 400 can be used to weld mild steel, low-alloy, stainless and aluminium in solid and flux-cored MIG applications. It can also be used for DC MMA welding (DC+/DC-) and scratch-start TIG welding.
Its control system allows infinitely variable control of welding voltage, wire feed speed, crater current and burnback. The power source also benefits from 4T/2T torch-latching and gas line purging. It offers a high duty-cycle for applications
EXTRACTABILITY
EXTRACTABILITY LAUNCH NEW RANGE OF VENT TO ATMOSPHERE SYSTEMS
Extractability, a division of Weldability Sif, is a UK based “one stop source” for all welding fume extraction solutions. The company has announced that they are now selling a new range of vent to atmosphere (VTA) systems, as packages consisting of suction arms, cranes and hoses. VTA systems extract welding fumes at the
point of source, and include a range of suction and collecting elements. Each extraction arm includes a hood installed at the tip of every suction element to ensure efficient extraction and capture the fumes at the point of source. To provide further variety, and ensure that these VTA systems are suitable for almost any application, Extractability’s suction arms can be purchasedwith external and tubed mechanisms which can then be used on other extraction applications other than welding.
requiring long runs, and features adjustable burnback control. The separate, removable 4-roll wire feed unit offers four gear driven rollers and a counter-balanced wire tension system for precision wire feeding. The wire feed unit houses the wire feed speed and voltage controls as well as the wire- inching feature, to provide you with complete control of your feed rate when used remotely via the interconnecting cables, up to 10m (optional extra). The ergonomic design of the SifWeld MTS 400
incorporates an integrated MIG torch holder for easy storage whilst not in use and a wire spool cover to protect your wire from the elements.
A robust trolley accommodates a full size gas cylinder and includes a wire feed unit mounting bracket, which allows the feed unit to rotate a full 360° whilst ensuring that your interconnecting cable is secured via the attachment bracket. The trolley also features a storage compartment for common spare parts to be stored. The SifWeld MTS 400 features MIG, MMA and Smart-TIG functionality, comes with a 400v 3ph 32a input supply and supplies 400A DC output at 100% duty cycle. l
Extraction arms are available for wall or ceiling attachment, or connected directly to the filter unit, the extraction arms are fully self-supporting, Extractability’s VTA systems are designed to ensure that your application will be catered for. Buyers can choose from a range of extraction arm lengths and fans of varying capabilities, ready for the extraction of high amounts of welding fume. Self-supporting articulated arms of 2, 3 and 4 metres are available from stock for next day delivery, and can be connected to either individual fans or central suction and filter systems. These come supplied with a wall bracket, 0.75kw fan of 1ph or 3ph and a fan to duct adaptor. If your application requires you to cover a large working area, such as a large workshop or factory, you can also order an arm of 5 or 6 metres, with 1.1kw 1/3ph fan, or even 7 or 8 metres, with 1.5kw 1/3ph fan. Telescopic suction arms are also available, designed to be appropriate for workplaces, training and education centres with limited headspace. These are, again, self-supporting

and are suitable for connection to central units and individual fans. Ideal for the extraction of pollutants produced by fixed welding benches, for example in welding booths, these arms stretch from 1.2m to 2.06m. They, too, come with a 0.75 1ph or 3ph fan, wall bracket and fan to duct adaptor, and are available for next day delivery. l
