Tailored learning from Figtree

Meet Ariana Azad, the founder and CEO of private tutoring agency Figtree Learning

What inspired you to establish Figtree Learning? Without a doubt, my work with the educational charity One Degree. Watching students develop self-belief and realise their potential was incred- ibly rewarding. It was a privilege to be able to mentor and guide highly able, but

socially disadvantaged students. Just as I became their role model, they inspired me to learn — ultimately, giving me the impetus to take the leap and establish Figtree Learning after my career as a finance lawyer in the City.

What’s different about Figtree? We’re extremely hands on in our approach with all our stakeholders, including parents, students and tutors. We check in regularly to ensure our clients are happy with the service they’re receiving, and that our tutors are fully supported to deliver the tailored tuition required to help their students reach their goals. Our central team is

available at all times and can be reached via any means of communication. I believe that cooperation and connection are key to ensuring our tutors support the Figtree way of learning, which is why we also provide a suite of carefully crafted in-house materials, and encourage a thriving community where tutors can share experiences and ideas. At Figtree, we know that private tutoring isn’t just an investment in today; it’s about

initial consultation and to arrange your complimentary first session

sowing the seeds for a

lifetime of learning. Tat’s why we take the time to get to know our students first, carefully selecting a tutor that will help them

achieve their ambitions and exceed their expectations. So, whether we’re helping create astro-

nauts or authors, scientists or social workers, we’re proud of the part we play in creating what we’re sure will be a brighter tomorrow.

How would you describe Figtree Learning in one word? Adaptable.

Every student

is

different, so being able to adapt quickly is key. We get to know each student as an individual and work flexibly to find the best way to help them attain their goals. We set standards for our students and try to make the learning experience both fun and fulfilling. When a student senses a tutor’s commitment, it does wonders for their confidence and motivation to strive for success.
