Morrelganj, Bangladesh On the way to Morrelganj to take the famous
Rocket paddle steamer, I passed through a small village near the Panchunchi River. My presence didn’t go unnoticed by the children who were playing in the water. The group included a young woman, dressed in a colourful sari, with flowery earrings and elaborate henna designs on her hands. She told me she was ready to celebrate Pahela Baishakh, the Bengali New Year, and invited me to meet the rest of the villagers.
