Marc Bolan musical starts national tour
A musical inspired by the life of rock star Marc Bolan – 20th Century Boy – returns to the stage on a UK tour. Opening on March 8 at G-Live in Guildford, the production will visit 27 theatres. West End star George Maguire
(Sunny Afternoon) returns to lead the cast, after portraying Bolan in 2011 and 2012. The producers said: “We
are delighted to welcome George Maguire back to the role of Marc. George has been involved with the show from the early workshop stages and has an incredibly close connection with the material.”

Top stars sign for Calendar Girls The Musical tour
TV presenter Fern Britton will join Ruth Madoc and Denise Welch for the UK and Ireland tour of Calendar Girls The Musical. Written by Gary Barlow and Tim
Firth, the comedy is based on a true story, which also inspired a film and play. It is about a group of ladies who appear nude for a Women’s Institute calendar to raise funds to buy a settee for their local hospital, in memory of one of their husbands. The production will open at the Leeds Grand Theatre on August 16 at the start of a UK and Ireland tour.
Dates announced for UK tour of Evita
The international tour of Evita reaches the UK, opening at Torquay Princess Theatre on March 13. The production has already visited
Luxembourg and the United Arab Emirates, and will also visit Turin in May before returning to the UK. Madalena Alberto returns to the title role of Eva Perón – a role she played at London’s Dominion Theatre in 2014. She has also appeared in Les Miserábles, Cats and Piaf.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has unveiled the child casting for the first five venues of the Matilda The Musical 2018-19 UK and Ireland tour. The title role will be shared by Annalise Bradbury, Lara Cohen, Poppy Jones and Nicola Turner. The West End production will
continue to play at the Cambridge Theatre in London, where it is now in its seventh year and is booking until February 10, 2019. Matilda The Musical will open at
Leicester Curve (March 5-24) and will visit Dublin, Sunderland, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Manchester and Cardiff. The adult cast for the tour will
see Craige Els reprise the role of Miss Trunchbull, having played her in the West End for three years between 2014 and 2017. The production will be accompanied by Change My Story, a new education programme inspired by Matilda The Musical which will engage young people in towns and cities across the UK and Ireland.
