honour will be presented after the panel debate for the Association of Group Travel Organisers (Agto). Another new feature is Destination
Europe, an area for European attractions, destinations and hotels. But the focus remains on the
domestic market – and the show will emphasise its domestic credentials by partnering with VisitEngland and English Tourism Week, which takes place from March 17-25.

Alan aims for success with night coach innovation
Scotsman Alan Aim (pictured) has set up a new concept in coach travel, offering customers the chance to sleep on coaches as they journey to their destinations. Called Travel by Knight, his business is building a fleet of coaches adapted to accommodate sleeping passengers. His slogan is “Save your day,
Travel by Knight”, highlighting how customers can pay for their transport but don’t have to worry about accommodation costs. Small groups can board in the late evening, fall asleep, travel
through the night, and arrive at their destination the next morning. He says his ultimate goal is to
have a network of sleeper buses, connecting Glasgow to Beijing. His first vehicle was a double-
decker sleeper coach with 14 berths and an upstairs lounge, which is ideal for transporting bands. The second vehicle is a
converted Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with 12 bunks, dubbed “the UK’s first sleeper minicoach”. He is targeting school groups, sports groups, backpackers and stags and hens.
