Legoland Windsor builds new Miniland landmarks
Legoland Windsor Resort will have two new elements at its Miniland attraction, plus a Lego Reef, when it re-opens for 2018 on March 9. The new attractions are currently being built, using more than two million Lego bricks. Miniland Explore the World will include landmarks from India, Russia, Australia and China, such as the Taj Mahal, St Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow, the Sydney Opera House and the Forbidden City in Beijing. The new Miniland USA will
feature a New York cityscape, with the Empire State Building standing at five metres tall, and a journey along the famous Route 66, taking in Chicago and Arizona. A new Tom Hardy figure at Madame Tussauds in London is setting pulses racing, thanks to a hi-tech heartbeat and a core temperature of 37 degrees Celsius. The Revenant and Legend
star’s figure is the first to combine technology that will make guests feel like they are sitting with their “red-blooded Hollywood beau”. The famous dog-lover’s figure also went through a rigorous
review process with dogs from the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Edward Fuller, general manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: “For 2018 we’ve upped our game and brought in technology that takes this experience to the next level, raising temperatures and literally putting the heart in heartthrob.”
