WHAT LIES AHEAD


The majority of Aito operators say 2019 has been flat. Long-haul has fared better than short-haul – sterling is doing better outside Europe and long-haul travellers tend to look less closely at costs, although the increase in all-inclusives may suggest otherwise. Looking ahead, many operators report sales for 2020 are good, perhaps reflecting customers’ Brexit fatigue and a sense of ‘let’s just move on next year and book as normal’.
