� IN FOCUS l WTM LONDON Ocean liners exhibition first for new V&A Dundee


V&A Dundee, Scotland’s first design museum, opened in September as part of a £1 billion transformation of the city’s waterfront. Designed by Japanese architect


Kengo Kuma, its appearance is inspired by the cliffs along the east coast of Scotland, and stretches out into the River Tay.


The opening exhibition, Ocean Liners: Speed and Style, is the first to explore the design and cultural impact of the ocean liner on an international scale. Facilities at the attraction include

The four councils on the banks of Scotland’s longest river, the Tay, have joined together to promote their region for the first time. Perth and Kinross, Angus, Dundee City, and Fife councils formed the East of Scotland Tourism Partnership and were awarded £40,000 through the VisitScotland Growth Fund. Called Scotland’s Tay Country, the project aims to capitalise


on the opening of V&A Dundee, and events such as The Open in Carnoustie in July 2018, to encourage more visitors.
