SHIPS AT THE SHOW C R U I S E

NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS

ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL

CLIA VISIT DAY: FRIDAY, MAY 26

BRIEFLY: Royal Caribbean International’s Navigator of the Seas is not only taking part in the Clia Conference for the first time but also has the honour of being the venue for the closing ceremony, which will showcase some of the entertainment clients can expect on a Royal Caribbean

ship. Navigator launched in 2002 and received an extensive makeover in 2014.

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR: Among new features added during the refit were Panoramic Ocean View cabins with magnificent floor-to-ceiling glass walls. Also, 81 inside cabins were fitted with virtual balconies so although passengers are in rooms without a window, they still have a view of the outside world via cameras on the ship’s hull. All cabins have flatscreen TVs.

AT A GLANCE l Sabor is among new restaurants added in the refit. It’s a Mexican speciality eatery where passengers can watch guacamole and salsa being made table-side and sample flights of tequila. Japanese Izumi and Italian Giovanni’s Table were also added in the refit. All carry an extra charge.

lA FlowRider surf simulator added on the top deck joined a range of free activities that include a climbing wall, ice rink, mini-golf and basketball.

lA Royal Babies and Tots Nursery for youngsters aged six to 36 months joined the Adventure Ocean line-up of kids’ and teen clubs, catering for ages three to 17.

lTours will visit entertainment venues including the theatre, Royal Promenade and pool deck, where films are shown on a giant screen.

KEY SELLING POINTS lWith dining options that range from Mexican to Italian as well as a traditional steakhouse, there are speciality restaurants to suit all tastes. Passengers can also tuck in for free in the main dining room and Windjammer self-service.

lVoom, Royal Caribbean’s internet service, allows passengers to surf and stream at super-fast speeds.

l Five and six-night voyages to France and Spain in August and October will give new-to-cruise passengers a taste of life at sea. For those already hooked, there are two-week itineraries to the Mediterranean and Canary Islands – and all sailings are no-fly as the ship is based in Southampton.
