Sales Executive – SLC Representation

Due to expansion we are looking for a highly driven sales consultant to work in our Mortimer branch, near Reading.
The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years travel experience, have a can-do attitude and be used to arranging tailor-made itineraries worldwide using their knowledge of the luxury travel market.
Importantly, the ideal candidate must have a passion to deliver exceptional customer service.
The hours are 5 days a week across a Monday to Saturday (9am to 5pm) working week.

SLC Representation is a travel representation agency that specialises in sales and marketing. We work as an extension of our clients (hotels and tourism products in Australasia, Asia, The Indian Ocean, The Middle East and Europe) sales and marketing teams. Working closely with UK tour operators, we maximise sales for our clients businesses by increasing their distribution, devising marketing campaigns, delivering training sessions, and advising on suitable strategies dependent on market conditions.
We are looking for a Sales Executive to join our team to work across a number of clients within our portfolio to:
• Develop new distribution for our clients and source new business leads • Educate the travel trade through training presentations to travel agency staff • Source marketing opportunities • Provide insight on market and competitor set • Build strong industry relationships • Organise in-market visits • Manage sales missions schedule • Attend relevant trade and consumer shows • Attend trade social events on behalf of our clients • Provide details reports monthly and annual and conduct quarterly calls with clients
Location: Wimbledon, London but with extensive travel throughout the UK and Ireland Length of Contract: Permanent contract Hours per week: 9am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday with a 1 hour lunch break (37.5 hour week) Holiday: You will be entitled to 25 paid holiday days per calendar year Starting salary: TBC About you:
o Be educated to degree standard – tourism degree - preferable, not essential o Have worked as a travel agent or front-line sales person and be knowledgeable about the UK travel distributions systems - preferable, not essential
o Possess knowledge about Thailand and or Indonesia or S E Asia - preferable, not essential o Understand how sales and marketing agencies operate and account management - preferable, not essential o Have a confident and proficient telephone manner - essential o Possess outstanding written and oral communication skills - essential o Have excellent time management - essential o Be a confident presenter o Be a proactive team player who wants to make a significant contribution to a small business, and wants to forge a career in the travel industry - essential
o Be passionate about travel and learning about other countries - essential
The role includes extensive travel throughout the UK, so the successful applicant must be able to spend up to 4 days per week out of the office, with overnight stays as required. Previous experience will be taken into consideration, but is not essential.
