Get there sooner with direct flights In March 2018, Qantas launched the first direct flight between the UK and Australia, flying the 9,000 miles from Heathrow to Perth in around 17 hours on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. These daily flights have eliminated the need for a stopover and sliced nearly three hours off the previous quickest journey, making it the fastest route to Australia. Customers clearly agree, with positive feedback for all cabins.
