Tui adds Manchester and Gatwick flights to Rijeka


Tui is expanding its coverage of Croatia for next summer by introducing flights to the port city of Rijeka. Tui Airways will be the only airline to fly to the airport, which serves the island of Krk in Kvarner Bay, from Manchester and Gatwick, with weekly flights from May 23, 2019. tui.co.uk


Ryanair unveils host of new London links for 2019


Ryanair has added 23 routes for summer 2019 from airports around London in what will be its biggest-ever schedule out of the capital. The new routes are Kiev, Lviv and Nantes from Stansted, along with Alicante, Athens, Barcelona, Bologna, Cork and Malaga from Luton. There are also 14 new routes from Southend, to Alicante, Bilbao, Brest, Copenhagen, Cluj, Corfu, Dublin, Faro, Kosice, Malaga, Milan, Palma, Reus and Venice. ryanair.com


Jet2 expands to Iceland from Leeds and Newcastle


Jet2.com is to add more flights to Iceland from Leeds Bradford and Newcastle airports. In July, the airline unveiled plans to fly to Iceland, with flights to Keflavík starting in February 2019 from Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle. jet2.com


Virgin Atlantic plans trade incentive as TV adverts air

Virgin Atlantic will run a trade incentive this autumn as the airline and sister operator Virgin Holidays embark on their first coordinated consumer brand and marketing campaigns.


The sister brands’ multimillion- pound campaigns launched with


back-to-back TV adverts during The X Factor on Saturday. They are designed to be “distinct but complementary”, with both using “hyper-real and playful” imagery. The campaigns are the first to


be worked on in tandem following the consolidation of the brands’ creative output with agency AMV BBDO in March. The Virgin Atlantic campaign


is based around ‘Depart the Everyday’ branding and marks the airline’s return to TV advertising alongside print, radio, digital and social activity. Adverts feature real-life cabin crew who took part in an internal audition process. Consumer-facing activity will be supported by a trade campaign, with agents encouraged to engage with the new brand and make sales to win prizes.
