SPOTLIGHT GET ME TO THE BRITS

GOLD MEDAL’S

GET ME TO THE BRITS CAMPAIGN

Gold Medal has launched its biggest-ever turn-of-year campaign for the trade. Juliet Dennis reports

Fancy being part of one of the music industry’s biggest nights of the year? Gold Medal will take 10 agents and their ‘plus ones’ to attend the Brit Awards 2019, as part of its biggest-ever peaks campaign. As well as enjoying the comfort of a VIP

box at London’s O2 Arena on February 20, the winners’ prize also includes tickets to the official after-party and the chance to rub shoulders with the crème de la crème of the music world. Comedian and actor Jack Whitehall will host the awards for the second year running. The

acts that performed live at last year’s event included Justin Timberlake and Ed Sheeran. Gold Medal launched its Get Me to the Brits campaign this week, and it will run until the end of January Marketing manager Kerry Gallagher says the operator has gone all out to reward agents with a “money can’t buy” prize. “The peak period is such a key time of

year and we wanted to capture agents’ imagination,” she says. “We wanted that ‘wow’ factor, to make

them feel as important as they are to us, and to thank them for the business they give us. “The Brit Awards fit with our agent audience perfectly, as they love to go out and have fun.” The campaign follows the launch of 11

brochures, including its first standalone Thailand programme. Sales director Nick Hughes says it is

even more important this year to create a “standout” campaign, as competition in the long-haul sector ramps up. He says: “Margins are being squeezed, but

I still believe agents want service – not just the best price. “There is a slight hesitancy about peaks,

Jack Whitehall will host the awards again

but it’s our job to make sure we put out enough offers at the right price to entice agents to book. “We are hoping agents will get behind this campaign and help generate some excitement.”

HOW TO WIN Any agent who makes a Gold Medal booking before January 31 will be in the running to win one of eight places in the Get Me to the Brits prize draw.

The more bookings agents make, the better chance they have of winning. Agents should email their booking references to: getmetotheBRITS@goldmedal.co.uk

The winners will be chosen at random.

The final two places will be allocated to agents who produce a short video clip on why they want to go to the awards. A song, dance, rap or straightforward plea – the choice is yours.

The two winners will be selected by a panel of judges. Entries should be posted on Gold Medal’s Facebook page or Twitter feed, @goldmedalagents, with the hashtag #GetmetotheBRITS. Alternatively, email your entry to getmetotheBRITS@goldmedal.co.uk

If you don’t win, don’t despair! Gold Medal has 50 runners-up prizes of Brits-themed hampers.
