Travel agent updates from Birmingham Airport’s Tom Screen

Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl, Austria n Hello colleagues,

As the school holidays come to an end, we see the traditional family summer holiday period wrap up and get ready to welcome the start of couples getaway time. On Friday August 26, we saw our busiest day post-Covid and passenger numbers were 94% of 2019.

The couples getaway period starts now

The airport is making a big investment in security, particularly the screening equipment. This project will be complete in 2024, but work within the terminal starts this year, so the departures area will begin to look a little different. What does this mean for our passengers? Well, customers flying out of Birmingham are to eventually benefit from a simpler, speedier security screening process. The existing space will become additional retail and seating areas.
