Royal Caribbean hires Wood to handle key agency accounts


Royal Caribbean International has recruited Melanie Wood as a key account manager. Wood joins the line’s UK and


Ireland sales team and brings with her six years’ experience in the travel industry, most recently as part of the product management team at Cruise 1st. She was previously a sales specialist at Cruise 1st and also at Cruise118. Wood said: “I was initially


drawn to the cruise industry through a family member’s fond memories of working as a performer onboard cruise ships. “I have always been impressed by Royal Caribbean’s creative

AmaWaterways has added six European itineraries and two sailings in Africa and Asia for 2018.


Many of the eight new sailings


in the river cruise line’s 2018 brochure include options for extended stays in ports of call. The river cruise line will also


launch 156-guest ship AmaLea, a sister ship to AmaKristina, which will sail the Danube and include


Dutch waterway sailings to see tulips in bloom. The ship features connecting


staterooms and triple rooms, twin rooms with balconies, a pool with swim-up bar, expanded fitness room and several dining venues. For the first time, AmaWaterways has included 10 and 11-night cruises on the Rhine and Moselle and a seven-night Danube itinerary, which begins or ends in Vienna. Other new itineraries include


a seven-night Medieval Treasure cruise from Basel to Nuremberg, which offers an optional three
