Dorset agency Select World Travel has recruited its first homeworker. Owner Hannah Vincent met North
Yorkshire-based Katherine Scott on a fam trip several years ago and knew she was a “perfect fit” for the business. Scott has worked for independent
agencies for more than 25 years, focusing on luxury for the past 15 years. She worked for Traveltalk in Harrogate and was manager of the agency when it rebranded as Ventur Luxury Travel in 2021. Select World Travel is offering a “good
full-time basic salary” plus the same commission as the full-time consultants based in its Dorset office earn. Asked why the business is now
expanding into homeworking, Vincent says: “It was more a case that Katherine is the right person and the timing worked. After a record-breaking year, I felt confident I could offer Katherine this opportunity. She is hard-working, driven and puts 100% in delivering exceptional customer service. “With many years’ experience,
particularly in the luxury sector, she is the perfect addition to our team.”
Vincent says she is in no rush to
grow a homeworking business but would consider expansion if the “right person comes along”. She says she expects the move to
“increase revenues and profits”, as well as help to grow recognition of the Select World Travel brand and its profile around the country, as more private travel consultants are introduced. Talking about her new role, Scott says: “When I began looking at fresh

opportunities, I saw Select World Travel as a mirror image of the business ethos and service levels I pride myself on delivering. Its model is the ideal set-up for my clients. “The benefit of stepping away from
management and working privately for Select World Travel enables me to focus solely on my clients and their individual needs. Having like-minded colleagues and working for a company with integrity is
extremely important to me.” i Strictly Business, page 101
