E-paper displays

complement traditional models

New TFT products to be exhibited by Midas Displays will include HDMI TFTs, and new transflective panels for outdoor use. Standard RGB and mono devices, will be demonstrated alongside display enhancement products such as cover glass, multi-touch capacitive and RMTS touchscreens. New e-paper displays, which

maintain an image even when the power source is removed, complement the company’s traditional LCDs and OLEDs, which include mono and RGB OLEDs, VA technology LCDs, high resolution graphic LCDs, and alphanumeric LCDs. The company provides

comprehensive technical assistance, dedicated to servicing product development, working closely with a customer to find the best solution for specific applications. This is supported by a wide range of interface, interconnection, and driver board products, designed to work with industry standard processors and controllers such as Raspberry-Pi, UC32, and Arduino. The technical team off ers full

on-site demonstration capability to reduce the project concept stage. The UK-based engineering team can then support the chosen product evaluation time by supplying full technical support including the all- important initialisation code. The company off ers over 700

lines through distributors Farnell, RS Components and Rapid, for easy availability for prototyping and low volume production.

Drying machine goes full circle

The entry-level CF100 circular machine will be shown in conjunction with a G100 model drying unit by Walther Trowal. The CF series of circular vibratory

finishing machines are suitable for mass finishing and for processing a range of diff erent workpieces. There are seven configurations, with a range of diff erent bowl sizes. They are easy to operate, says the company, and can be expanded with a range of modular accessories, such as acoustic lids and magnetic separators. The work bowl incorporates an evenly rising design and is driven by a zero- maintenance vibratory flange motor which operates at two speeds. The pneumatic separation flap

(manual on the CF 100 model) and long separation zone allow gentle separation of workpieces from the processing media, resulting in a

High power models extend programmable DC

supply range High power GSP models added to the TDK-Lambda UK Genesys+ series of programmable DC power supplies will be highlighted at this year’s show. The 2U high 10kW and 3U high 15kW models have output voltages and currents of up to 0 to 10V/1,500A up to 0 to 600V/25.5A. The power supplies address a broad market range, including component, aerospace and automotive testing, semiconductor fabrication, water treatment, plating and solar array simulation. The 20 new high power models

can be programmed to operate in constant voltage, constant current or constant power modes and can also simulate an internal resistance for battery charging and long output cable voltage drop applications. The units are available for use with three

phase 170 to 265, 342 to 460 or 342 to 528V AC inputs. Eff iciencies are up to 92%. Arbitrary waveform profiles,

such as car battery simulation at vehicle start up, of up to 100 steps can be generated and stored in four memory cells. These can be activated by commands from the communication ports or the front panel controls, allowing the user to quickly switch between programs. All functions can be programmed

via the front panel or remotely using the LAN (LXI 1.5), USB 2.0 or RS232/485 communications interfaces, which are provided as standard.

EMS meets automotive delivery times

Design, testing, manufacturing and delivery of PCBAs make Volburg a one-stop-shop for OEMs. The EMS company has more than 20 years’ experience in the UK, Germany and Scandinavia. Services also include

industrialisation (adjustment of products for manufacturing process), advanced supply chain for on-time manufacturing and delivery. Expected delivery reliability is 95% for industrial and 100% for automotive customers, reports the company. The company’s facilities and

production equipment adjusted for the assembly of small- and medium-sized production volumes

of PCB boards with diff erent levels of complexity. Two SMD lines are used for SMT, 3D AOI quality inspection and Fuji Trax traceability. There are also a reflow oven SMT, ATF wave soldering, SEHO and Pillarhouse selective soldering machines. All soldering processes are conducted in an inert atmosphere using nitrogen. Programming of controllers, ICT and functional testing is a standard service for industrial and automotive customers. A selective conformal coating line is available, together with potting and encapsulation and semi-automatic mixing/dispensing equipment. The company is certified to ISO

capture) has also been significantly enhanced to provide inspection booking, operation gates (preventing successor operations being started until the predecessor op has been successfully completed), and to fast- track jobs. There will also be a demonstration

of the Tricorn:Dashboard and the introduction of Tricorn:Dashboard Cloud, where key performance charts and manufacturing status

information is available via any browser, with data extracted from the Tricorn database. The role-based module provides

key information relevant to a user’s responsibilities without having to run reports or export data to Excel to analyse. Each Dashboard widget can be a task list, chart or alert/ warning notification that updates on a frequency defined by the user. The library currently contains over 80 standard manufacturing-based widgets.
