Test for RED

Advanced testing capabilities to support compliance and certification has been developed by RN Electronics. If an electronic device contains wireless connectivity, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, it needs to be tested to the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) for use in the UK/ EU market. The company provides consultation and testing services towards achieving compliance to the radio frequency, EMC and safety requirements of the directive. The independent UKAS-accredited

EMC test laboratory tests electronic products for a number of industries including multimedia, medical, defence (DEF STAN 59-411 and MIL STD-461) and automotive (UNECE Regulation 10). It provides accredited EMC and

wireless testing for the US and Canadian markets and is an FCC Conformity Assessment Body for the USA and listed by ISED for Canada and accredited for testing for Australia and New Zealand. The laboratory provides an FCC and ISED certification service and can support worldwide approval of devices.

Automate the hand assembly process

Two systems from Robotas Technologies can optimise the hand assembly process. Mascot automates and

streamlines the PCB THT component hand placement process, making it eff icient, reliable and repeatable. At every assembly step the component placement location is shown on the PCB via laser indication, the correct component is automatically dispensed/indicated to the operator and operator work instructions are displayed. Benefits include improved product quality, increased throughput, the virtual elimination of set-up time and reduced rework. Sigma is for the mechanical hand

assembly process. It provides a single platform for operator guidance to be produced. Images, text, 3D models, animation and video clips can be used to deliver the most suitable
