To ask someone what date their birthday is, you say Quelle est la date de ton anniversaire ? The response is Mon anniversaire est le … followed by the date and year. For example, Mon anniversaire est le 20 juin.
In French, the first of the month is le premier. For example, le premier mai is the first of May. C’est intéressant !
The first of April, April Fools’ Day, is called Poisson d’avril in France. This translates as ‘April fish’. On this day, it is traditional for children to stick paper fish on the backs of grown-ups without them realising!
