Paris, France’s capital, is home to over 2.2 million people. The city is divided into twenty numbered areas called arrondissements. The lower-numbered arrondissements are in the city centre, climbing upwards as they move towards the outskirts of the city.
The first arrondissement is called Louvre, which is also the name of the famous museum located there – le Musée du Louvre.
Apartments are the most common type of home in Paris, as space in the city is limited.
Despite this, Parisians are famous for their love of pet dogs (les chiens). Small dogs are welcome in many of the city’s cafés and restaurants and on public transport.
C’est intéressant !
In Paris, there are more than 300,000 dogs. That’s one dog for every seven people!
