Here is another type of grid. This time, instead of naming squares on the grid, we name points. We call these points co-ordinates. To work out what each point, or co- ordinate, is called, we refer to the numbers along the bottom and at the side. The line along the bottom of the grid is called the x-axis and the line up the side is called the y-axis. To name a point or co-ordinate, first check what number it is on the x-axis and then the y-axis. For example, the blue point on the grid is 3 on the x-axis and 5 on the y-axis, so we call that point (3, 5).
