EVENTS The 56th GOMA Lubricants and Base Oils Symposium
The Croatian Society for Fuels and Lubricants (GOMA) has been continuously active since its founding in 1964 as a non-profit, non-governmental organisation within the Croatian Engineering Association (HIS), whose roots go back to 1875. Originally, GOMA operated within the former Yugoslavia as an association of republican professional societies, with a core mission: to promote the application of cutting- edge scientific and technological advancements in the field of fuels and lubricants.
Over the decades, GOMA has fulfilled this mission through numerous professional publications, including its professional journal Fuels and Lubricants, but the cornerstone of its activities has always been the organisation of international symposia, held annually since 1967. These gatherings have served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange and professional networking. The continuity of the symposium was interrupted only twice: once during the Croatian Homeland War in 1991, and again due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s event marks the 56th International Symposium, focusing on lubricants and base oils, and will take place from 12 to 14 November 2025 at the Dubrovnik Palace Hotel in the historic city of Dubrovnik.
Dubrovnik, once known as the Republic of Ragusa, is among the Mediterranean’s most iconic cities, famed for its harmonious blend of Renaissance, Baroque, and medieval architecture, as well as its rich maritime history.
The symposium is expected to host around 100 experts from over 20 countries, offering an excellent opportunity for professional exchange, business meetings, and reconnecting with old colleagues and friends.
