EDITORIAL

New beginnings, new opportunities

A very warm welcome to the 169th issue of Lube Magazine! I am delighted to be joining the prestigious UKLA as Editor; what a fabulous industry and family to be part of! Do please enjoy this issue; huge thank you to Laurie and David who have taken the lead whilst I settle into my new role. Much to learn and I am deeply regretting choosing history over chemistry at high school!

A little bit about me – background in finance, PR and marketing working in pharmaceuticals, airlines, banks and publishing. For the past 15 years I have been the Editor of both national and international lifestyle magazines. I am a huge petrol-head, lover of travel and a little obsessed with architecture and my two grandsons. Often found pottering about in my garden with a G&T. I very much looking forward to meeting you over the coming months!

As I write this, we are getting ready for our Sustainability Conference on the 25th May, a subject very much on everyone’s agenda. How do we demand a positive impact; play an integral part and embrace diversity and inclusion. We must make changes collectively, work together to develop not only our core product but our labelling, packing, transportation etc. A unified strategy to develop technology and operational change, enabling new growth and opportunities. We can never be 100% net positive but we can be 100% positive by the decisions we make.

New beginnings, new opportunities for us all. Tina Reading
