The Rt Hon Dame Cheryl Gillan visits UKLA House INDUSTRY NEWS


The UKLA were honoured to welcome the Rt Hon Dame Cheryl Gillan, MP for Chesham and Amersham, to their offices on Friday 13th July at the Chess Business Park.


“We felt it was important to introduce the Association and its work to our local MP. We were delighted she was free to accept,” said David Wright, UKLA Director General.


Introductions to the UKLA team were followed by a short presentation about the trade association and its core representation of the UK Lubricants


Industry, both in Europe and globally (through the UEIL, ORA and UKPIA), and its publication, Lube magazine and digital platform, Lube-Media.com.


Dame Cheryl was interested to hear from each of the UKLA team about their specific roles and the relaxed and informal discussions then touched on the lubricants industry and its post-Brexit strategy. Looking ahead to the challenges facing an ever-changing technological industry, Dame Cheryl discussed how the UKLA is working with its member partners to overcome the possible “changes in the architecture of the industry”.


Dame Cheryl said after the visit, “I very much enjoyed today’s opportunity to visit the UKLA and hear about the good work they have been doing. I look forward to working together in the future to ensure the best outcome for not just an important constituency company, but a vital part of the manufacturing industry nationally.”
