ExxonMobil “How To”
Grease Educational Videos
ExxonMobil has launched a series of “how to” educational videos on grease. The videos offer practical guidance on best practise selection and application of grease.
They aim to demystify grease and make it easy for operators to unlock the benefits of using the right grease in their machinery.
The latest instalment in the series focuses on off-highway equipment.
Off-highway machinery, such as construction and agriculture equipment, face a variety of harsh conditions, from heavy loads and high temperatures, to excessive wear, dirt, and water contamination. High-performance greases play a key role in maximising the performance of off-highway equipment. They can help protect and optimise machinery, and improve operational safety and productivity.
Specialist greases for off-highway equipment, such as excavators and loaders, are formulated to satisfy very specific kinds of
operation. In an excavator for example, the right grease helps to prevent metal to metal contact by protecting joints, pivot points, pins, bushings and bearings.
Attachments also need to be greased, paying particular attention to the connection between the attachment and boom. This is where there is almost constant movement and stresses, meaning it’s essential to have a grease that’s suited to rugged conditions and heavy loads.
Mobilgrease XHP 320 Mine, for example, is scientifically engineered to remain in place even in tough conditions of water spray, high sliding and high temperatures.
To help find the right grease and apply it in the best way, watch ExxonMobil’s latest instalment in its “How To” series on off-highway equipment accessible at the link shown below:
