J Sansom’s seventh Mathew Shardlake title, Tombland, has had a far from restful début, claiming the Official UK Top 50 number one aſter just three days on sale. It shiſted a kingly 45,633 copies, making it the fastest-selling Original Fiction title since Lee Child’s The Midnight Line in November 2017. Tombland also represents a stunning personal best for the author. Its volume was Sansom’s biggest single-week sale to date, beating his previous best—Winter in Madrid’s volume in the run-up to Christmas 2006—by more than 12,000 copies.
