There are endless formats of ready-to-install walk-in solutions in all proportions on the market, so you are sure to find one that will work for you. Plus you can combine individual straight, curved, and hinged glass panels to create your ideal combination – or go for a bespoke product created specifically to fit your room. “Custom solutions are now readily available, allowing you to incorporate wetroom- style showering areas into even small and seemingly awkward spaces such as under sloping ceilings or within alcoves,” explains Jayne Barnes, managing director at Aqata. “With this approach, you have the benefit of being able to incorporate clever and personal design elements such as, for example, low-level shower trays or wider frameless screens and larger doorways, which improve accessibility without compromising on the design.” Innovations in glazing technology have led to more curved glass designs as well. From gently arching single panes to those that substitute an awkward meeting of two adjacent screens with a neater, tight curve, the effects are seamless and great for utilising smaller spaces. Two-sided enclosures enable you to tuck the shower tightly into one corner, while designs with three screens are ideal for a more central position. For larger rooms, walk-in arrangements include expansive glass panels that sit parallel to the wall, creating a single or twin-entry shower area. These formats can also work with a single, central front opening and dual showers – one at either end.
