SHOW REVIEW | Küchenmeile

Störmer unveiled several new ranges including the Resoft collection with a soft anti-fingerprint finish

KÜCHENMEILE: Open and in person

An overview of the latest innovations from some of the leading German kitchen brands that participated in the annual Küchenmeile fair

T 52

he event may be known under several names – Küchenmeile, Hausmesse or Area 30, but they all refer to the same event, where German

kitchen manufacturers invite dealers from across the globe to visit their flagship showrooms in Germany for a look at the latest product developments. Küchenmeile is one of the few trade events to happen in person in the past 18 months. This year's fair took place from September 18 to 24. Reported attendance figures were down by a third on 2019 at 9,500 individual visitors. Of those, 79% were from Germany, and 58% were owners, or

representatives, of kitchen studios. Although not at pre-Covid capacity, all showrooms were open for viewings, with additional online previews for those who could not be at the fair in person. In terms of trends, we are talking clean lines and sleek designs. In terms of colour, dark finishes were a common theme. Deep greens and blues also made an apperance as well as some red tones.

Natural wood effects were another obvious trend running through many of the new designs, with Oak and Walnut proving particularly popular.
