FOCUS | The kbbreview Podcast

It’s been another cracking month of insight, advice, personal stories and expertise on the KBB industry’s only dedicated podcast. Here’s a round-up of everything you may have missed...

SEASON 2 EPISODE 13 The New Year retailer round-up and VitrA

Not only is this the fi rst episode of 2021, it’s also a bumper episode packed with KBB chat!

We’re in the middle of a new national lockdown so we catch up with some friends-of-the-podcast retailers to see just how they feel about 2021 so far, the effect on demand, their confi dence for the next few months and, simply put, where are we now? Then we’ve also got a fascinating insight into the current situation in supply with the head of Vitra in the UK - Levent Giray (pictured). He really understands supply chains, logistics and how to get your stuff from A to B. Vitra is also opening a brand new showroom in the middle of Clerkenwell in London so we’ll also hear all about investing in the middle of the pandemic.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 15

Roca and the return of Trevor Scott

SEASON 2 EPISODE 14

We’ve got a great line-up in this episode with a couple of industry veterans. Between them they’ve

clocked up decades of experience but they’re still moving forward and keeping themselves at the front of the sector.

First up, continuing our retailer round-up from the last episode, we have the triumphant return of Trevor Scott (pictured) from RFK, he’s fi lling us in on how 2021 is treating him so far.

And then we have Alan Dodds, the UK MD for bathroom giant Roca. They’ve just made a major acquisition in Spain so we talk about the importance of investing and growth and, of course, we get his insight into what might be next for the industry.

Price rises, buying British and more retailers

We have another bumper edition for you in this episode.

First up, we’re talking to the CEO of AMDEA Paul Hide,

and the CEO of the BMA, Tom Reynolds, about the exorbitant rise in shipping costs and how that’s affecting the supply chain.

Then we chat with the managing director of Mereway Kitchens, Mark Mills (pictured), about

whether the

disruption of the supply chain from across Europe and beyond is making people consider British brands more. And fi nally, we catch up with Joe Mühl from Ocean Bathrooms in Dorset on how business has been for him so far in 2021, especially as he opened a new showroom at the end of 2020.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 16 Matt Podesta and Hettich

We have two stories of adaptation and moving forward this week. First up we have kitchen designer

and retailer Matt Podesta (pictured) and his new venture Huckleberry Kitchens – which aims to take his brand of artisan, handmade British furniture away from the premium and into the mid-market. He’s also got some very interesting opinions on boosting the status of designers and charging for design.

Then we meet Colin Patterson and Jacqueline Böker from Hettich and hear about their upcoming Experience Days – a clever virtual event designed to not only replace the lack of any face-to-face exhibitions last year but also to build on what is possible when customers can tune in from all over the world.
