Keller Kitchens confirms board of directors

THE DKG Group, parent company of Keller Kitchens, has confirmed permanent positions to its statutory board. Formerly, the management of DKG Group was operated on an interim basis by Toine van Rooij (chief executive officer), Boy Salverda (chief financial officer) and Ron van den Berg (chief commercial officer). Those interim positions were put in place after the death of CEO Anton Sanders in January 2021. From January 1,

2022, the positions will be confirmed as permanent appointments. The DKG Group supervisory board considered the succession and division of roles within the DKG management during 2021 and after careful consideration an internal succession was chosen unanimously. The group’s shareholders converted the interim status of the three board members into a permanent arrangement, and together they form the statutory board of the DKG Group.

MARK BUTLER from Butler Interiors has joined the KBSA board as regional chair for the North Midlands/North West. Commenting on his appointment, Butler (pictured) said, “I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with the KBSA board and give something back to the industry. The KBSA plays a vital role in promoting the services of the independent kitchen retailer and has provided invaluable support and advice to retailers during the pandemic. “I am passionate about training younger people and look forward to working with the KBSA to ensure that we encourage trainees into the industry and can provide a clear career path with appropriate education and training.”

The appointment was announced at the KBSA AGM, which took place virtually at the end of 2021. Owner of Roman Bathrooms, Caroline Copper, who joined the board earlier this year to focus on bathrooms was also officially appointed as bathroom retail category chair. The meeting included updates from the KBSA team on membership, training and education, finance and marketing. The national

chair Richard Hibbert and corporate chair Malcolm Scott also made presentations during the meeting. Acting KBSA CEO Uwe Hanneck reviewed the association’s five-year strategic plan, outlining the objectives to grow retail membership, increase marketing activities, enhance the business services, and to further support the Foundation in Kitchen Design and BA (Hons) courses at Bucks New University.

In the meeting Hanneck said, “Despite the challenges we still face from Covid-19 and Brexit, the furniture market is strong and the future is positive for the independent retailer.”

Taylor Howes collaborates on design of new-look AGA cooker

TAYLOR HOWES Design in London has collaborated with iconic brand AGA on the design and launch of a new-look cooker. AGA rarely collaborates on its

designs and the company described it as an exciting development. The Knightsbridge-based luxury interior design studio worked with the cooker maker to produce a new-look AGA that was launched at the end of last year as the brand celebrated its 100th birthday.

The new-look Taylor Howes- designed AGA will be finished in the design studio’s signature navy blue colourway with additional

copper-

coloured hardware. This will be the first time in AGA’s history that it has used this metal finish and it is intended to give the cooker a contemporary and elegant feel. Taylor Howes chief executive and founder Karen Howes, said of the collaboration: “We’ve had it under wraps for so long, it’s hugely exciting to see it all come together. For me, an AGA is a quintessential part of an English home and in my house the AGA is the main element that attracts my family to spend time in the kitchen. It is beautifully designed and engineered and I love that it can sit in both a contemporary and a traditional kitchen space.

January 2022 ·

“The idea for the collaboration was born out of our wanting to create something fitting for both town and country living, and with the Taylor Howes colourway and particularly the new metal we’ve created something show-stopping.” The Taylor Howes x AGA collaboration cooker is available on

AGA 7 Series 100 and 150 models. Speaking on behalf of AGA, Jenny Hyatt said: “We’re huge fans of the Taylor Howes style and the way Karen creates spaces that look fantastic but are also incredibly easy to live in, so when we saw Karen’s suggestions, we knew there was real synergy and that she inherently understands the

AGA aesthetic. We’re thrilled with how the new AGA looks.”

AGA was taken over in 2015 by the Middleby Corporation, which is a global provider of commercial kitchen equipment. Other brands under the Middleby umbrella include Rangemaster, Rayburn, Viking, La Cornue and Novy.
