The standard of entries for 2019 was once again outstanding, many congratulations to this year’s shortlist:

he Kbsa 2019 conference is focused on providing independent retailers with a range of techniques, tools and advice to help them stay ahead, as they navigate uncertain and challenging market conditions. This year’s programme is packed full of practical hints and tips as well as a not-to-be-missed presentation from one of UK’s most renowned entrepreneurs, Lady Michelle Mone. There is a new format that will allow for more participation from delegates and an extended business update that will bring together trusted Kbsa advisers that support the members. The Designer Awards have also been enhanced, with former England football team manager Kevin Keegan acting as host at the awards and providing after dinner entertainment.
The dates and the venue
The 2019 event will again be held at the four star Stratford Manor Hotel, located just fi ve minutes from Stratford-upon-Avon. The exclusive retailer dinner on the evening
before the conference, Tuesday, September 24, has become a fi rm favourite with retailers who appreciate the opportunity to network with other business owners and build relationships. Arriving the night before the conference is also popular as it means delegates can be fresh and ready at the venue the next morning. The conference, AGM and awards dinner takes place on Wednesday, September 25.
Outstanding speakers and host Lady Michelle Mone will be the keynote speaker in the afternoon. Michelle founded Ultimo Lingerie, taking the brand from zero to hero, transforming it from an initial idea and concept into one of the UK’s leading lingerie lines for over two decades. Since selling the company Michelle has won the World Young Business Achiever Award in Florida, alongside Business Woman of the Year at the Corporate Elite Awards in London and is on the board of directors for The Prince’s Trust.

Keegan began his football career in 1968 at Scunthorpe United, making his debut as a young seventeen-year-old. During his career he spent time at Liverpool, Hamburg, Southampton and Newcastle as well as the national side. Kevin captained England for six years until his international retirement after the 1982 World Cup. He was capped 63 times for England, scoring 21 international goals. As a manager, he was in charge at Newcastle, Fulham, Manchester City, and England.
