Mystery shopper
Telford
Our mystery shopper was pleasantly surprised by the standard of showrooms in this area and found many that were new or undergoing refurbishment. Only one retailer fell short of the mark for service when they failed to make an approach

This small showroom had a very unassuming entrance. It could perhaps have been a bit better organised inside, but there were great products, lots of sample boards and some very nice bathroom displays in what was quite a limited space.
I was greeted by one of the owner/ designers, who was extremely helpful without being pushy. She explained their offering and also showed extensions of the ranges available in the brochure.
She also gave me one of the best run-downs of how a wet room is installed that I’ve ever heard, including logistics for tiles and shower panels. The kitchen space was limited – they sell Eco kitchens. But the emphasis is clearly on bath and shower rooms.
Our interaction inspired confidence and we came away thinking that this was a very safe pair of hands to handle a project.
A safe pair of hands

Tucked away in a small space behind an antiques market in the gorgeous town of Ironbridge, this showroom was a proper little gem. Slightly chaotic, as it was undergoing a complete refit, which I would say was about 75% finished, so there were unfinished splashback tiling and lots of stacks of boxes. But the displays looked like they would be fabulous when finished.
There were lots of sample boards, including some incredible Cambria sparkling stone surface finishes from the US. Collections included Second Nature, Häfele and Burbidge. The showroom had an oddly- positioned WC and shower enclosure display next to the entrance door, which was a little disconcerting.
There was a spectacular Samsung digital fridge-freezer with massive touch- screen display, which was the subject
of a guided tour for another customer at the time of my visit. Ironbridge Interiors also holds cooking demonstrations with Neff – so of course there are working ovens available, too.
I liked this showroom. The assistant was friendly, and explained the visit/ design appointment process neatly and briefly without pressure. A great first impression.
A proper little gem

This showroom was a pleasant surprise – brand spanking new, on a new retail park. Very spacious and absolutely immaculate, although still unfinished in some areas. When completely finished, it will be very swish. I was greeted by a very helpful designer who was happy to let me browse, while quickly explaining the services available. Kitchens were displayed around the perimeter, with bathrooms in the middle, which gave a very realistic sense of ‘real space’ layouts. There was a spectacular tap display immediately visible once through the doors.
I felt this was an adventurous opening – neighbouring stores were a bargain store, pet store, plus an Aldi and a Lidl. The company also has a branch
in nearby Newport, so presumably they know their market.
Judging by the showroom, I think that this will appeal to a younger clientele, on their first kitchen and bathroom creations.
QA also had a good website with plenty of inspirational images.
Spacious, immaculate and very swish
