TPG open to offers as it tries to sell off Victoria Plum
US PRIVATE equity firm TPG is reported to be trying to kick-start the sell-off of online bathroom retailer Victoria Plum but, according to Sky News, has been low-balled with some of the first bids it has received.
The private equity giant acquired
VictoriaPlum.com back in 2014 and is understood to have paid as much as £200 million for the e-tailer. According to Sky News, bids
received may have been as low as £10m, which would mean a

substantial loss for the buyout firm. The identity of the bidders for
Victoria Plum has not been revealed. There were rumours late last year that Victoria Plum may merge with Bathstore, which fell into administration last month.
TPG took a hit last summer when Poundworld, which it also owned, was placed into administration. Victoria Plum, was launched in 1999
by brothers Sean and Jason Walker. The Walker family bought the MFI brand out of administration in 2010.
CAESARSTONE UK has expanded its service to the north of England by opening a 20,000sq ft distribution centre in Trafford Park. The centre will act as a hub and will service the north with ambitions to cut delivery times and improve service.
The surfaces company intends to build a third centre in the next 12 months. Caesarstone has reported to have seen consistent business growth within 2018 and has committed to not raise prices in 2019.
In the next few months, Caesar- stone will also open a showroom in Trafford Park as well that mirrors the London Studio in Enfield that opened in May 2018. The new showroom will be built to appeal to the end customer, kitchen designer, and architects with a range of large displays of the variety of Caesarstone products.
Caesarstone UK managing director, Amir Reske, said: “Our UK business continues to grow at a significant rate and the opening of our Manchester distribution centre is another milestone in our long-term UK expansion strategy. We have a very healthy business in the north of England with growing demand for our products. “Our new Trafford Park location will allow us to improve on our already excellent levels of service, as well as catering for northern- based consumers by giving them a more accessible location to view our award-winning surfaces.”
