INFECTION PREVENTION 2019 Autonomous UV-C disinfection

UVD Robots was founded in 2016 by Blue Ocean Robotics with the objective of globally commercialising robotic based UV Disinfection solutions for hospitals. The UVD Robot is used as part of the regular disinfection process, and aims to prevent and reduce the spread of infectious diseases and harmful organic microorganisms in the environment, by breaking down their DNA-structure. The benefit of the UVD Robot is autonomous

UV-C disinfection, which eliminates human error factors, allowing room for disinfection to join the list of autonomous decontamination processes that can be validated, making history in infection prevention. According to the company, the robot now delivers UV disinfection like no other system and can be used as part of a daily disinfection routine. The robot can manoeuvre itself around the room and avoid obstacles which vastly reduces any shadowing. Furthermore, UVD Robots are user friendly and designed to be operated by every-day cleaning operatives. To see the robot, visit stand 65.

Waste handling

and disposal The team at Jalkin is passionate about helping its customers prevent infection specifically brought about due to human waste.

Combining the most reliable waste disposers from Haigh Engineering with the innovative Splodge range of disinfecting chemicals, the company takes an end to end approach, addressing infection risks from the source of patient waste, right through to the point at which drainage effluent or waste taken for collection is no longer its customers’ responsibility. This end to end approach, combined with quantitative assessments, allows a holistic approach that not only improves protocols and compliance levels, but can reduce day to day operational costs and make sites more pleasant for patients and staff alike. The range of services and products supplied include: infection risk audits; cleaning protocols and product supply; waste handling and disposal systems for immobile or incontinent residents; and drainage, sluiceroom and sewerage services.
