use by clinicians across the world, feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, including reports of how the device facilitates hydrodissection and reduces the amount of local anaesthetic required for a successful block. SAFIRA recently won the HSJ Patient Safety Innovation of the Year 2021.
OES Medical is a
manufacturer of anaesthesia equipment and accessories for both the original equipment market and their own representatives around the world. The company is showcasing the Gemini-G100 ICU Ventilator, an electrically driven piston ICU ventilator with integrated oxygen concentrator for use in intensive care, which
is specially designed for use in settings/ situations where high pressure Oxygen gas supplies are problematic. The Gemini-G100 does not place any demand on the oxygen supply within the hospital as it only requires mains electrical power – this means the hospital does not need to rely on deliveries of Oxygen, particularly during peak demand. Multiple modes allow a wide range of patients and conditions to be effectively ventilated efficiently and cost effectively.
Digital Healthcare company Ortus iHealth will be launching Ortus iHealth 2.0. Ortus iHealth is a digital clinical pathway management platform that automates and integrates the clinician and patient journey, delivering end-to-end pathways. The Ortus Platform enables clinicians to manage risk, prioritise patients, and respond effectively and efficiently to patient needs, providing an integrated workspace for clinicians to manage their pathways. It brings together PRoMS and PReMs, remote monitoring, and data from multiple devices and systems to create dashboards and workspaces facilitating active management. The company was formed in 2017, by the Barts Hospital based consultant cardiologist, Dr. Debashish Das.
Pharmazon – a fast-growing UK provider of high-quality pharmaceuticals and medical supplies – will officially unveil OWELLO. Unofficially dubbed ‘Uber for Health’, the platform creates a marketplace for healthcare practitioners (HCPs) and patients to practice quality healthcare. Owello – a cloud-based web solution and IOS/Android app – seeks to address the imbalance of supply-v-demand for healthcare services in a country and cross border by creating an eco-system to help HCPs provide private consultation work immediately when a patient requires their services. It gives practitioners freedom to choose the type of
work – when they want, where they want. Meanwhile, patients benefit from access to whole of market, complete choice and control. Prescribers can use the platform to conduct online consultations, operate a virtual clinic, create prescriptions and manage their workload.
Medical device manufacturer P3 Medical is showcasing the NEVAP Aspire Subglottic Suction ET tube, designed to deliver a new standard in infection control airway management. Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is a deadly and common hospital-acquired infection in patients requiring invasive mechanical ventilation and is caused by infectious material leaking along the breathing tube and entering the lungs. The NEVAP Aspire is designed to remove pathogenic subglottic fluid before it can cause infections. The multi-port subglottic suction ET tube, featuring a tissue spacer and 24 ports, is capable of removing pathogenic secretions and fluids without becoming blocked by airway tissue – a key problem with single-port devices.
SUEZ Water Purification Systems is launching Purite Centurion MDR – a single patient reverse osmosis system designed and manufactured to comply with the new EU Medical Device Regulations. It is
designed to provide a guaranteed flow of ultra-pure water to all types of dialysis machines, offering a long, trouble-free operating life. Its attractive design, compact footprint, minimal energy and water consumption, plus ultra-low noise levels make it ideal for any home environment. A large colour touchscreen and clear graphics make the Purite Centurion MDR easy to operate, while on-board Wi- Fi provides the opportunity for remote monitoring of unit performance to aid troubleshooting and make dialysis even easier. Each unit is easy to transport and move around home or a hospital ward and comes with advanced failsafe mechanisms and alarms preventing incorrect use.
