IHEEM is partnering with Air Sentry and GPT consult to deliver the annual Authorising Engineers Conference on 6 July at Epsom racecourse in Surrey. The theme of the
Conference is ‘Meeting the Standard’, with the programme developed by the Institute’s specialist Technical Platforms. IHEEM said: “This event is a must- attend for anyone providing specialist technical engineering services to the healthcare sector. Delegates will include IHEEM-registered Authorising Engineers, members of IHEEM’s Council, senior employees within the NHS, tradespeople working within the healthcare sector, private sector engineers, and apprentices (our future workforce).” The draft programme features a range of professional speakers covering: n How national and international standards evolve, and what AEs can do to influence them.
n Discipline-specific update workshops. A debate on the appointment of Accountable Persons (APs), and whether the process requires regulation/registration.
n Independence in the role of an Authorising Engineer.
n The Expert Witness – the legal aspects. n A panel discussion on how to maintain standards while working towards the Net Zero carbon agenda within healthcare.
