RDG then transfers the shredded material for sorting and grinding processes. “Untha tested the shredding of our materials for us in advance,” said Franz Kobleder, Managing Director of RDG Recycling Group. “We then rented the XR3000C Mobile-e for an extended period to be on the safe side and to test it extensively in operation. This shredder fulfils all the promises made by the Untha experts.” Untha said the shredder is easy to maintain and service and most of the work can be carried out in an upright position and with standard tools. In addition, this XR3000C Mobile-e was equipped with a central lubrication system that ensures that relevant points are automatically supplied with lubricant.
Capacity increase A Weima recycling customer has reported in- creased productivity by using the company’s S7.20 shredder. Stiphout Plastics in Montfort, Nether- lands, recycles household HDPE and PP waste and produces high quality flakes. With a rotor length of 2,000 mm and a 160 kW hydraulic drive from
Hägglunds Bosch Rexroth, the new shredder meant Stiphout Plastics was able to double its output, said Weima. “With the Weima shredder, we were able to
increase our capacity from 10,000 tonnes to 18,000-20,000 tonnes per year,” said founder Eline Stiphout. Two Weima machines are responsible of
different tasks at Stiphout. A S7.20 lift-up shredder shreds the incoming material for efficient further processing. This is complemented by a C.200 Duo drainage press, which dewaters and compresses the plastic waste produced during recycling in the form of fine fractions.
