PLASTICS RECYCLING TECHNOLOGY | EVENT PREVIEW

of integration of recyclates in high value products. The following paper by Douglas Brownfield, Commercial Director from Ampacet, reviews closed-loop in-line colour correction automation when using PCR and PIR resins, to decrease colour usage and cost, while improving colour quality. The last paper of this session is presented by Ryan Breese, Senior Application and Product Develop- ment Manager from LyondellBasell, with its focus on driving recycling infrastructure and supply through innovation, and reviews solutions for recycling and innovation to enable sustainable packaging at scale.

Feedstock security The final session of the Plastics Recycling Technol- ogy North America conference focuses on two key challenges the industry is facing: feedstock security, and recycling films and flexible packaging. The first challenge is addressed by Adam Wozniak, Senior Managing Director of Sustainability from Ravago. In his presentation, Adam proposes multi-stakeholder partnerships to build a pathway to infrastructure and scale for growing demand and resolving the PCR feedstock security challenge. He also high-

lights the role of infrastructure development and public policy, before sharing a case study. Best practices for enhancing recycling systems for films and flexible packaging will be examined in a panel discussion moderated by Shari Jackson, Director of Plastics Sustainability from American Chemistry Council. Representing different parts of the supply chain, panellists include Patricia Drake, Director of Business Development, Circular & Low Carbon Solutions from LyondellBasell, Chris Wirth, Chief Development Officer from The Recycling Partnership, and Rodman Alcaraz, Secondary MRF and SMRF Portable Manager from Titus MRF Services. This one-hour panel covers subjects including: diverting materials from landfills to viable markets, reducing contamination and improving material quality, the complementary role of advanced recycling in capturing residuals and practical metrics and conditions for success at different scales.
