SHOW PREVIEW | NPE 2018

Right: Piovan Quantum Batch blender

Below: Sepro 5-axis 7X-45 robot

This year is an important one for Piovan in North America, as it will complete its new plant in Fredericksburg, VA. The Piovan Group of compa- nies, including Piovan, Una-Dyn, Aquatech Fdm and Penta, will come together this year at NPE. On its stand, Piovan will show the new line of Quantum batch blenders, which are entirely made in the US. These blenders, for applications requiring a very high degree of accuracy, will be shown along with the Easylink automatic distribu- tion solutions coupled with the Pureflo filterless receivers. Piovan’s complete line of granulators will also be on display, including the models with the U&G Disposable Knives system, which allows cost savings due to longer knife life with CPM10V tool steel. Under the Una-Dyn brand, a wide array of drying systems fully equipped with loaders will be exhibited from Automate, the adaptive multiple hopper central drying system, to the energy efficient dryers of the Vantage series. A great deal of display will be given to Aquatech, which will show for the first time in the US Easycool+, its new line of air and water cooled chillers, along with Aryacool drycooler

technology and DigitempEvo, a thermochiller unit for flexible heating or cooling. Another new introduction to the US market will be Nextherm, the latest development in mould temperature control, featuring he

group’s patented Thermal Energy Balancing Technology. In the Industry 4.0 context, Piovan is launching FACS 4.0, its auxiliary equipment control and monitoring system, designed by Una-Dyn. Also on show is Winfactory 4.0, Piovan’s supervisory software for the Smart Factory, which is OPC-UA compliant. www.piovan.com

On its NPE stand, Sepro will show a 5-axis 7X-45 robot, one of the first Sepro robots ever built outside of France. It is among the first of 40 robots that Sepro America is planning to build this year at its recently expanded plant in Warrendale, PA. The robot adds the precision of a 2-axis Stäubli CNC wrist to the flexibility of a large, 3-axis Sepro Cartesian beam robot, the company said. Robots of similar size and design, but with significantly different capabilities, can be seen side-by-side on the Sepro stand. For example, two 6-axis articulated-arm robots – a 6X-90L from the Sepro Stäubli range, and a 6X-170 from the Sepro Yaskawa family – will be shown together in a choreo- graphed performance handling car headlight components. Similarly, a 5X-25 from Sepro’s technological line

of 5-axis Cartesian units, and a Success 22, repre- senting that line of economical robots for simple pick-and-place applications, will be operating together. www.sepro-group.com
