showcase cleanroom capabilities, with a W823 robot with a Servo B Axis and cleanroom options. In the area of closures, an EcoPower 180/750 machine will demonstrate production of a PP sham- poo flip top in a 4-cavity mould from StackTeck. The cell will include a W833 Pro robot integrated with Mould Following, which allows for high speed removal. Also an EcoPower Xpress 400/3300+ machine will mould HDPE closures with a 96-cavity mould from Bauer Plastisud.
Other injection moulding machines will be
producing wood-plastic composite building blocks and, in a two-shot application, a plug from inside the recording head of a vinyl record player. In robotics, Wittmann will demonstrate its X Series robots, which were launched at Fakuma 2017. It will also show the Primus 14 robot. All of these models will be running with the new R9 Control. From its materials handling range, Wittmann will

Multi-technology group Milacron Holdings will show equipment from group companies and is emphasising the unified service it has developed for customers using injection moulding and other processes. NPE2018 will be the setting for the group’s launch of M Powered, which offers service, support, and parts programs to customers, deliv- ered by ServTek by way of new connectivity in the group’s technology. This includes remote service capability, remote monitoring with OEE and downtime analytics, and data collection with maintenance and parts recommendation. The Milacron-Fanuc Roboshot 500 injection

moulding machine on display at NPE is the largest tonnage Roboshot ever, the group said. The new Roboshot 500 has an increased tonnage option up to 550 US tons and is suited to larger moulds with tie bar spacing of 36.2 inches. It will be moulding a detergent cap with 24-cavity mould in 6 cycle times. The cell will feature a Mold-Masters Master- Series valve gated hot runner and TempMaster M2 hot runner temperature control system and DME mould components. In automotive, a Maxima Performance 600 machine will be moulding an 825 g door panel map pocket using MuCell foaming technology along with RocTool induction heating to create a class A finish. The cell will feature a Mold-Masters Fusion G2 hot runner and iM2 TempMaster hot runner temperature control system. Mold-Masters will show how its all-electric E-Multi unit converts existing injection moulding machine equipment to enable multi-shot and multi-material moulding. The E-Multi has over 2,000 standard possible configurations available and is now available with LSR capabilities. Another Milacron company, DME, is showing a new line of TruCool Standard conformal cooled components including core pins, gates, and sprue bushings.
