maximum speed of 1200 rpm, an FSB side feeder, FSV vacuum side degassing system, FSK strand head (incorpo- rating its patented curved die plate), and the company’s new FSB-V side feeder with vacuum support. “The new FSB-V side feeder with vacuum assistance has been developed to optimise side streams into the com- pounding process,” says Klaus Hojer, Business Develop- ment Manager at Feddem. “Air is sucked out of the metered side stream before it enters the extruder. This enables a considerable increase in throughput rate of the overall process when adding lighter bulk materials.” The company will also show the second generation of its
FRE cleaning unit for twin-screw barrels, which has been redesigned to reduce weight and now includes a recharge- able power head that avoids the need for trailing cables. The design also incorporates a torque compensation system to provide additional operator protection. Feddem will also highlight the latest configuration of its
production systems for LFT-G long pellets, which is claimed to allow line speeds of up to 60 m/min due to its use of a patented modular impregnation tool. The lines also arrange the melt extruder parallel to the line to save floor space. �
