excellent heat stability, colour stability, processability, and mechanical properties. Recently, the company has also focused on the development of tin replacement stabilisers, and said it is on track to provide similar transpar- ency levels, colour stability, heat stability, and heat ageing characteris- tics to traditional stabilisers containing tin. To further illustrate its sustainability credentials, Adeka has also developed an improved weatherability stabiliser formulation for flexible PVC, primarily aimed at outdoor applications. In February, CAI Performance Additives launched ST-CR6 (previ- ously known as ST-FR6), a new flame retardant synergist for PVC W&C applications. ST-CR6 maintains essential mechanical and electrical performance, passes the VW-1 flame test, and is RoHS-compliant, signifi- cantly lowering harmful elements such as lead, arsenic, and mercury. Perhaps most importantly, the company says it offers a cost-effective, stable alternative to antimony trioxide (ATO), addressing the current ATO supply chain challenges while maintaining performance and environmental safety. Over the past two years, ATO prices have risen by over 50%, with supply chain bottle- necks causing severe shortages, said CAI. “With ST-CR6, we offer a game-

changing solution that helps wire and cable manufacturers stabilise costs and enhance product safety,” said Torey McCleskey, COO of CAI Performance Additives. “By eliminat- ing reliance on ATO, we provide customers with a more sustainable and predictable supply chain.” At Interwire 2025, the international
trade show focused on the W&C industry held biennially in Atlanta, Georgia, US, Penn Color displayed a new line of phthalate-free PVC colour masterbatches specifically formulated as drop-in solutions for industry stand- ard PVC colours. The company’s standard portfolio spans 50 colour options across Munsell, NEMA, J1128 PVC, and J1128 EVA palettes, avail- able for immediate testing to shorten time-to-market. Headquartered in Hat- field, Pennsylvania, US, Penn Color is a family-owned business specialising in developing and manufacturing colour concentrates, masterbatches, and pigment dispersions. The company serves a diverse range of applications, including consumer goods, building and construction, transportation, and infrastructure and has multiple sales, R&D, and manufacturing sites in the US, Europe, and Asia. Working with PVC is an integral part of its business. The fourth PVC4cable conference in
