Envalior’s Pocan ECO T3230 uses PIR glass
fibres and post-consumer PET in the 30% GF-filled PBT-PET blend. The latest from the company is the new Pocan T3230 RC X-MB, which uses bio-circular butanediol (BDO) in the PBT component of the blend, which adds an additional 10% renewable content to the compound formulation. The BDO monomer is produced using biomass from waste streams and is introduced using a mass balance
approach, certified in accordance to the ISCC Plus standard. Possible applications in automotive include dimensionally stable housing components with increased mechanical requirements. “This compound was developed in response to
increasing demand for materials with a higher share of renewable and recycled content.
