IonPhasE commissions Coperion IDP system
Coperion has commissioned a complete compounding plant for production of inherently dissipative polymers (IDPs) at the Tampere headquarters of Finland’s IonPhasE. The system, which includes
everything from raw material handling through to final product packaging, was delivered at the end of 2016 and is now in full production. It is centred on a high-perfor- mance ZSK 45 Mc18
compact
twin-screw extruder, equipped with ZS-B side feeder and ZS-EG twin-screw side devolatilisation equipment. The system also includes a
feeding station with 11 integrat- ed Coperion K-Tron feeders for continuous dispensing of raw materials into the extruder, a UG underwater pelletiser, and semi-automatic bagging system.
