For now, someone needs to drives it on the optimised route provided. Computer vision and AI identify rocks and control the load- ing into a bucket. The final concept (in early devel- opment) will be fully autonomous. It will navigate and plan the picking either using an optimised route based on a map, or will scout for rocks in a standard pattern using computer vision. Availability: First in Idaho and Pacific Northwest of the USA, then the rest of the USA and Canada. In- itially priced at US$ 150/h during the beta launch.


VitiBot Bakus for full mechanical soil work


Manufacturer: VitiBot (France) Robot(s): Bakus P75S/P75L Task(s): full mechanical soil work Development start: January 2017 Pricing: sells from € 125,000 Units active: unknown Description: Bakus is a viticultural straddle robot that integrates a wide range of modular tools for efficient mechanical soil work in vineyards. The robot is fully electric and uses two RTK GPS receivers to navigate and two inertial control units to detect unusual changes in topography that might cause Bakus to slow down and/or stop. The robot is equipped with eight 3D cameras and twelve RGB cameras and can work for 10 hours autonomously with its four Lithium Ion batteries providing 75 kWh. Availability: Currently only available for sale, lease and as a service in France. There are plans to introduce it in Austria, Australia, Italy, Spain and the United States in 2021, and worldwide in 2022. Future developments include a confined spraying system.
