Most of the administrators are also new this year and they shared that they’ve appreciated Vobis’ direction. Most knew Vobis before she was the exec- utive director. “She’s an extremely supportive leader and she


knows her stuff,” Demers said. “She knows it from the classroom, from the school level, all the way up,” he said, adding that he shares that in common with her as he was also a teacher, transportation supervisor and transportation coordinator. “But her focus is always on the students. And I think that keeping that focus is really driving this entire team. Because every decision that we are making when we’re trying to problem solve something, if it doesn’t affect the students, or if it doesn’t ben- efit the students, it’s not necessarily a decision we want to make. Every step that we are doing is making our service to the kids, to the schools even better.” Yacub noted that the district officials work as a team and can lean on each other for support,


She didn’t just give us the work to do, she got in there and she did the work with us. And I think that really says a lot about who she is because she’s not just speaking about the problem, she was in there trying to fix the problem. And I truly respect her for that.”
