year over the next five years. Building a fleet, especially a green one, requires many considerations in determining the best purchase option, given school board and district goals. Some of these objectives are purely


fiscal. Others, however, are longer term and focused on sustainability and envi-

ronmental concerns. Building a green fleet of buses means giving due consid- eration to the merits of traditional fossil fuels, such as diesel and gasoline, as well as electric, electric-hybrid, com- pressed natural gas and propane.


The Electric Avenue Frost and Sullivan said most bus pur- chases in the near term will continue to favor diesel. Some districts are still set on the fiscal and budgetary constraints
