Wire-to-Wire Success at EWPTE

Hartland, WI — Attendance hit an all- time high this year at the 19th annual Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo (EWPTE) held May 8 to 9 in Milwaukee at the Wisconsin Center. Billed as the “Nation’s Largest Dedicated Wire Processing Event,” the show’s 3,005 attendees represented a 4.5 percent increase over 2018. Over 190 world-class suppliers and service companies showcased the latest equip- ment, instruments, tools and supplies used in wire and cable harness assem- bly, inspection and repair. Exhibitors needed more space this year and the show’s footprint expanded from 44,200 to 64,200 ft2 (4,106 to 5,964m2). Workshops were extremely popu-

lar with full registration not uncom- mon. Presenters were CAMI Re search, Inc., El Paso Foreign Trade Zone, IPC/WHMA, and Schleuniger, Inc. All seminars, some standing

room only, were free. Presentations included: “Make IPC/WHMA A-620

Work for You;” “Crimping: Beyond the Basics — Preparing for the New Reality;” “OEE in the Context of Digitization as a Success Factor for Companies;” “Trends in Overmol ding;” “Fully Automatic Wire Harness Manufacturing;” “Large Cable, Large Problems: Considerations for Inno - vation in the Large Cable Market;” and “Interesting and Unusual Applica tions of Cable and Wire Harness Testing.” Jay Partington, president of

Expo Productions, Inc., the producer of the expo, said, “Walking the floor we were encouraged by the enthusi- asm of the attendees to not just gain information and knowledge, but to make purchases at the show. It’s exciting to see the industry in gener- al is doing very well.” Contact: Expo Productions, Inc.,

imec, CEA-Leti and Fraunhofer to our growing family of strategic asso- ciation partners,” said Ajit Manocha, SEMI president and CEO. “The addi- tion of these premier technology research and innovation hubs epito- mizes SEMI’s mission to connect, col- laborate and innovate throughout the global electronics supply chain. In return, SEMI provides access on our global platform to the $2 trillion

global electronics manufacturing and design supply chain to enable new levels of innovation across the indus- try and bring new opportunities and greater value to our members.” Under the agreements, the
