Fountain Inn, SC — AVX Corporation has expanded its TACmicrochip® series with a low-profile 1206 (3216
metric) footprint tantalum capacitor. Measuring only 0.02 in. (0.5 mm) high, the new “I” case capacitor is
rated for 10 µF and 6.3V, but will be followed by future releases to extend the product offering. The full line of TACmicrochip
capacitors, which is currently avail- able in 11 case sizes with footprints from 0402 to 1411 (1005 to 3258 met- ric), heights from 0.02 to 0.06 in. (0.5 to 1.5 mm), capacitance values from 0.1 to 150 µF, and voltage ratings from 2 to 25V. In addition to exhibiting high
capacitance in an extremely low-pro- file package designed to contribute to overall space and weight reductions in end products, the new capacitors also deliver all of the standard bene- fits of tantalum technology, includ- ing inherent immunity to piezoelec- tric noise and higher stability, relia- bility and temperature performance than comparable MLCCs.
