Chromasens Intros Coaxial Modules for LED Linescan Systems


Konstanz, Germany — Chromasens is expanding its CORONA II LED linescan illumination family with two new coaxial modules to accom- modate inspection of highly reflective surfaces, such as wafers, metal sur- faces, connectors, liquid crystals, and glass.

To achieve this on reflective surfaces, CORONA II coaxial illumination is diffused by a beamsplitter so that the light has no discernable directionali-


ty. Shadows are eliminated and the effects of specular reflection are sig- nificantly reduced. Chromasens’ bright field coaxial


module’s approach is based on the use of a perpendicular camera view. Light is deflected downward onto the imaging plane by a 50 percent beam- splitter, which also permits light from the object to be collected by the camera above. The coaxial path fol- lowed by the light results in a uni- form, bright, field reflection directed along the lens axis and onto the imaging plane. The only interrup- tions of the bright field are the details present on the surface of the mirror. The dark field approach is


designed to get light inside of deep objects — for instance, the inspection of pin counts on automotive plug con- nectors installed within a housing. Dark field illumination is required in most inspection tasks utilizing tele- centric lenses. Here, the coaxial light source will direct light rays towards the lens that then redirects the light towards the object and is reflected back through the lens towards a cam- era, creating diffused, uniform illu-

SCHURTER Unveils UL Approved 400 VDC Couplers


Santa Rosa, CA — SCHURTER has introduced its newest connectors, UL-approved 400 VDC couplers, according to the IEC TS 62735 stan- dard. Manufacturers of PDUs and other equipment for data centers have long demanded a safe and reli- able, standardized solution for DC power architecture. SCHURTER is also offering its


4751 series, IEC 60320-style F out- lets for 2-, 4- or 6-pack configura- tions. The prewired outlets are designed to provide enhanced fea- tures for increased functionality, ease of assembly and offer a tamper- resistant blind cover, series BC320, to manage system loads in PDUs and UPS applications. The 4751 series is certified by VDE and CCC for 10A at 250 VAC. They are cURus-approved for 15A at 250 VAC. The company also offers various
